CNC V-Bit Angles: How Depth Changes Cut Width
Understand included angle, tip condition, depth and lettering geometry before choosing a V-bit for signs, chamfers or engraving.

A V-bit's included angle links cutting depth to groove width. At the same depth, a wider angle produces a wider groove. Letter spacing, corner detail, tip shape and actual stock surface therefore affect the visible result.
Understand the physical relationship
V-carving varies depth so angled sides fit between vectors. A narrow angle reaches deeper for a given width; a wide angle reaches the same width more shallowly. A flat or rounded tip changes the theoretical point and very small detail.
Connect geometry to the cut
